be on a tv show
Television in China 2 years ago

I had the opportunity to participate in several TV shows and commercials while I was in China and it was only because I was one of a few foreigners living in North East China that could sing and act in Chinese. I participated every year in the Changchun Christmas Special. I also participated in the Beijing Arts in our Land Spring Festival Show, which aired in January 2004 and featured over 55 international performers living, working and studying throughout China. It was a wonderful experience. I met so many interesting and talented people from all walks of life. I think I will recount this story at a later date. During the summer of 2005, I was asked to do a two week special that involved a TV crew following me around the city for several days while they observed me going about my “daily life.” Most residents in Changchun had not had a lot of exposure to foreigners at the time, and the show really portrayed the difficulties and challenges that a person faces while living and working abroad. It was challenging and a lot of fun. Now I’m living in Taiwan and there isn’t as much of a demand for actors and actresses as there was in China. Besides, I’m not really an actress. I was just lucky to be in the right place at the right time.
