Please select a dog from your local dog pound. There are thousands of dogs waiting for a home, who, in many cities, will be put to death if they are not adopted. Many of them are mixed-breed mutts, but, as my dog proves, mutts are some of the most loyal and lovable animals. In contrast, pure-breeds tend to be skittish, temperamental and prone to health problems. My parents once had a pure-bred Lhasa Apso. It was the stupidest, meanest dog I have ever known. I am a dog lover and have never met a dog I didn’t love except SOME for pure-breds.
