learn a programming language (read all 2 entries…)
I've made a choice 4 years ago

I think I’m going to start with Python and go from there. According to something I read, it’s a good language to start with.

Comments:

That sounds right.

Python doesn’t have a lot of syntax overhead to wade through, and it’s pretty normal as programming languages go. It’s an excellent language to start with—and depending on what you do, you might never need another. My husband uses Python and R, and that’s about it.

I almost envy you, because you’re about to discover something very cool for the first time—the joy of making something that works and does a job for you out of nothing more than an idea and some general purpose equipment. Enjoy!

So how long did it take you to learn this language?
