ride my bike for 30 minutes everyday for one month (read all 19 entries…)
Previously entitled "exercise everyday even if it feels futile" 3 years ago

I’ve decided to rename this coz it no longer feels futile. I saw my face in the mirror and I swear I look less blobby-like. Did my 30-minutes stationary bike routine tonight while watching ANTM. Talk about motivation.. yeah right! ;P

You are doing great with this. I know what you mean about futile tho. I wonder sometimes if all this exercise does anything. I mean, I do feel great, and don’t get me wrong, I just wouldn’t not do it, but the other day a good friend who I hadn’t seen for quite a while said Oh, my gosh, you look awesome – you’ve lost a lot of weight!! Well, I don’t think I have lost that much, but I think my body shape has changed – maybe more muscle tone now which is wonderful, so I know exactly what you mean about the blobby face. Anyway good luck with this goal and cheers to you:)

You really hit the spot about whether exercise actually does help. It’s weird coz I know I’m still overweight, but some folks would come up to me (those I’ve not seen in a while) and say I’ve lost weight. Huh? I mean sure, thanks.. but I know i am still several pounds heavier than I should be.

Still, i don’t want to focus on its futility, coz it does make me feel good to work out a sweat. And it helps me reload on self-esteem knowing I kept my word when I said I would do it and did it too. So I guess it’s about the secondary benefits, and if I lose weight and get into better shape along they way, hey.. that isn’t so bad now is it ;)

I will Nina. Know what you mean about keeping your word. I was told the other day that I was very determined, coz when I set my mind to something, I just get on with it. Well, that goes with exercise too. I tend to not make excuses – I just do it – and I have seen the benefits. It took me a long time to lose my weight, and I won’t let it creep back, so I think you will do great with this.You sound like my kind of girl!! Now where are those weights??
