I’ve been wanting to do this forever. I have renters insurance, but I don’t necessarily have a good idea of how much my assets are worth, so I muster along knowing I may be under insured.

Out of frustration from free software and having to figure out where to store my cd’s, I’ve decided to build my own web app to hold my inventory. This way, I can build it the way I want and not have to pine over the day that the free software will satisfy my needs. Plus I can have offsite storage and backups! The best of both worlds without wasting gas to store my valuable data away from my home.

I hope building this web app will make it easier to keep my inventory updated, which is my biggest obstacle.
