Right now only one car (the wife’s) fits in the garage. I only have a couple of months to get the garage cleaned and organized so that there is room for a second car (mine !!!). I would prefer not to spend another Minnesota winter cleaning snow and ice off my car each morning. Must find time to do this.

Maybe if you suspended your music listening/movie watching/going places with the family you’d be able to get this done….???!!!!! You’ve been adding a LOT to your All Consuming site! When do you find time to work?! Ha ha!

What you don’t know is I consumed a LOT of music this Labor Day weekend cause I was inside for over 16 hours painting a room we hope to be the new home office. When I could paint no longer I watched a movie or two and found time to have breakfast at my favorite local dives.
Now the kids and wife are back in town and suddenly the consumption and the project work is WAY down.
BUT what you might have pointed out is that I should pipe the stereo into the garage and while I am consuming a few more CD’s I should get to work CLEANING.
That’s for the slap upside the head :)

I hear there are wireless speakers you can get now. Shouldn’t be too much trouble to get sound in the garage!
My family was gone the week before Labor day (all went camping without me!) and I didn’t get anything productive done other then pick up the living room. Course, I was working, and went to a photo opening, sushi with Beth (K) A., dinner with former co-worker, sushi with a college friend, volunteered at the zoo, and packed to meet them all at the river for the weekend! Whew!
Things should be much more hectic now that school has begun….!

Why clean the garage when you could be fooling around somewhere else? I highly recommend remote auto starters! Have them in both of our trucks. Push the button in the morning about 7 – 10 minutes before you leave and viola, thawed windshield, warm inside and if you have heated seats like we have in my wife’s Yukon, leave them turned on, the seats are preheated!!! The flip side is in the summer, leave the A/C on and it will pre-cool your vehicle on those warm sunny days!
Make the move, get them installed and go and enjoy your music and movies!!!! Garages are for storage anyways!
how about heated driveways !!!. The auto-start is great except for two key facts: (1) I park too far away from the building at work for it to do me any good and (2) even a warm car won’t get 6 inches of snow off. A clean garage will at least make the morning easier (afternoon snow storms are still a pain).
Now a heated driveway that melts the snow and ice that would be time saver…to bad I can’t pony up to that electric bill. At least I have the snow blower until my kids get old enough for slave labor.
OK, got to ask about the A/C comment. I lived in Anchorage for many summers and I don’t remember A/C being of any use. Now here in the MidWest (or God-forbid the South) there are days when the steering wheel is so DAMN hot you can’t touch it without getting 2nd degree burns…those are A/C days.
Have you installed any auto-starts on them cargo planes? Take care my Northern Friend.

We haven’t really used the A/C this summer much in the trucks but the summers previous when we had exceedingly warm and sunny days it was the best thing since sliced bread! My wife’s Yukon is a dark grey and setting in the sun you go to get in and the little thermometer in the mirror starts reading in the upper 90’s, it’s time to fire up the cooling devise! Leather seats are hot in the sun!
I can appreciate the heated driveway, even before our boy graduated and moved out of the house, he was useless in the snow removal department so it was up to me and the wife. I thought the whole point of having kids was to cultivate lawn mowing and snow removing workers. The Ketchum’s live around the corner from me and have a heated driveway. They suck!
My remote start for the planes is called pilots. I tell them to get to work and send them out to their airplane. If for any reason they fail to work and start the plane I turn in a report for service and have them fixed. Same idea.
Also, I saw your dad quoted in the paper after the primary election on his stance on the gas line. Some people get all of the fame!
Got the “big” stuff in the garage organized so that now BOTH cars fit. Workbench and a couple shelves are still a wreck…so the goal is not met, but we are getting closer.
