After my maternal great-grandparents and grandmother passed away, there was no one left in the family that could speak Cajun French. It saddens me that this heritage is now lost our family. Cajun French was my grandmother’s native tongue; not that very long ago. I would like to revive this in our family and teach my young niece as she grows up so that the tradition may never be lost.
