Since that last entry things have been going very well.
I’ve got to the point where I can do three round trips to work without any real problems. It’s proving to be useful in seveal ways.
Not only do I have more time to myself (it’s quicker to cycle than to catch the train and about the same amount of time as it takes to drive) but I’ve become a lot fitter. On top of that I did a 100km charity bike ride last weekend and although I was a bit tired towards the end I felt fine the next day.
This obviously bodes well for a trip that’ll involve day after day of long miles. Now I just need to increase the number of long rides I do on top of the commuting.
