This bums me out so much! I’ve always been horrible at speaking infront of people. I know that I need to get use to singing and speaking infront of people but I just can’t help it. I’m in our church choir and I have a burning passion for singing, my goal has always to get one of the many solos that come up. So far I’ve chickened out of tryin out for ALL of them. It’s really depressing. What also is very important that I do this is because my friend is starting a band and wants me to be the lead singer. Ut oh, what now?

It's hard at first...

...but if it makes you feel any better, it DOES get easier the more you do it.

Obviously you have some ability, given that you already sing in a group. Are you scared to sing in front of anyone at all, or just large groups? If you are afraid of singing in front of ANYONE, may I suggest starting with a small supportive audience of one or two friends, and then working up to something larger?
