get an EU passport
obtaining an EU passport 2 years ago

Hi,
Any ideas on conditions required to get an EU passport/citizenship? My mother was born in Austria. Her father-my grandfather- was born in Hungary. I’m an Australian citizen. I’ve heard maternal links to europe are acceptable now as proof of eligibiliy. I’m amped about living and working in Europe!!!

this is what I did...

call the (austrian) consulate and they will tell you everything you need to do. It is a lot of paperwork, but it seems possible. I’m in the middle of searching for birth certificates…
