study opera singing
my grandmother was an opera singer...

My grandmother retired to have children in the 1930s, after a career where she sang on radio, and in live performances, and then became a music teacher. She always planned to teach me, but that didn’t work out. She did, however, leave me with a lifelong love of music.

I’m a mezzo soprano – possibly a coloratura mezzo – and terrified about finding the right teacher, and how I would pay for it, but oh, I so want to sing more!

Character tenor, here

It’s 11:00 p.m. and I’m just home from a rehearsal of Marriage of Figaro. We open Saturday. I’m performing Don Curzio in 2 of the 4 shows and Don Basilio in the other 2. Makes me dizzy! Anyway, I want to encourage you with your singing. After years of striving, I gave up and became a licensed psychotherapist. I’m almost 50 … and just got back onstage 4 years ago. These two Mozart characters are roles # 11 and 12 that I have performed since! Hopefully you will flourish vocally and dramatically at a younger age than I! Please keep me apprised of your progress.
