find a "real-deal" penpal to write to
this would rock! 3 years ago

i am talking about actually picking up a pen and paper and writing to someone…no electronic penpal stuff. i actually had an email penpal…a friend of a friend of a friend… and it was cool. unfortunately the “penpalship” really didn’t last too long. so i wanna give it another shot. now – where does one actually go to find a penpal? that’s what i would like to know. is there a secret society of people waiting to find someone else to write to? can i sign up?

Comments:

I’d have to work on my handwriting… I’d have to buy stamps!! The joy of checking the mail would return! This is an excellent idea… I’ve thought of it often over the years but in with the advent of email…

Awesome!

For YEARS I had a penpal who lived in France. I thought it would be cool when I was little, so I asked my mom to help me find out how to do it. We did and I was given one penpal who never wrote back to my first letter. Then I got Sylvain and we wrote from something like 4th grade through high school. I can’t remember when we lost touch, but I have to say it doesn’t really matter—it was a great experience anyway. Hm… it would be fun to start again!

i think...

i also remember “almost” getting into something like that back in grade school – just didn’t pan out. i think where i’m at in my life right now it would be perfect to share with someone via “ink and paper.”

hopefully i have a little more follow-through than when i was in 5th grade!

ohhh! pick me!

i’ve been writing real letters for years, but no one writes back anymore.
i’d love to be your penpal, if you are still looking that is…
