I’ve wanted to get a boat for years. It’s completly impractical since I’d want to keep it in the water during the summer and moorage rates are out of this world. Plus, what ever I end up liking is always way too expensive. But I went to the boat show recently and fell in love with the new Chris Craft Speedster. It’s like a sports car for the water – it goes fast and can’t hold many people. It’s completly impractical, which makes me want it even more!

You said it!
You’ve completely summed up boating! Expensive and impractical, which makes you want it even more. But you forgot the most important part; absolutely life changing and you wouldn’t sell it for the world! ;)
But isn’t it funny? Some people pay upwards of $2 million for a water front/view property so they can just SEE the water and as a society we think that’s OK. Boaties, however, spend just a fraction of that cost to actually be ON the water and touch it, yet it’s often seen as an extravagance. Go figure! :-)
