have a house with hidden rooms and trap doors, and some kind of secret tunnel (read all 2 entries…)
Secret tunnel for my kids

My daughters have rooms next to eachother. I have thought about making tall beds with ladders and little playhouses underneath, and a secret tunnel between the two playhouses, one on either side of the separating wall. I could easily make a hole in the wall, big enough for them to crawl through and make little circular hobbit-doors for the openings.

Yeah, that’s the kind of father I am!

I remember being 6 years old and thinking my parents were the coolest, because they would let me build forts with sheets and kitchen chairs…

I hope you can bring your idea to life for your daughters! Good luck :)

yes do for sure i remember wishing i had a tunnel to my sisters room when we were younger. i think u should be voted the best father in the world if u do it:) good luck

GO CRAZY!!!

do it!!!that would be so cool! and your kids probably would think you were the best dad in the world!my mom used to have a little trap door inside her closet.and she would always let me and my friends sleep in it!!!i will always remember that!those were the days!

awsome

I have a little girl too, who would love to help me! Funny thing is; she’s only 3. But anyway; so we build this “secret passage way” for our daughters. What do we do when they get older and don’t use it and get different beds, out grow the playhouse, need more room in their rooms? would love an answer soon! so I can tell my wife what will happen when that time comes! thanx!

undo

Our walls are drywall on 2”x4” studs 60cm apart.

I would cut a circular hole from each side between two studs, i.e. 50 cm diameter. That would give me two drywall discs that I would save for reconstruction.

When it’s time to undo, I would make two pieces of 2”x4” short enough to get into the hole and fix them to the drywall, and possibly the bottom joist or something. Then I can reattach the 50cm discs and cover the gaps with plaster or something. Then sandpaper it and paint. Should be good enough.

Sometimes I’m too optimistic, and that’s something I’m working on improving. See my other goals. But this one I think I could handle.

The beds are less of a problem, if I build them myself I could modify them, or I could sell them second hand and buy new. I could even use them as kindling.

Sorry

I spoke to my wife about it. But we both agreed that we can’t adopt you.

I’m very flattered by your comment, but it just wouldn’t work.
