I’m finding it hard to make friends. I moved to San Jose a year ago to get married. I’m working on my dissertation, which doesn’t give me a lot of opportunities to get out and meet people. My husband’s friends are all busy with babies and extended families, and I don’t feel like I really fit in with them anyway. I met a guy online a few weeks ago who claimed he wanted to be friends-we met for coffee and then he announced he was attracted to me. I’m very happily married-but I’d definitely like some smart, interesting people to hang out with. Any one have any suggestions for how to meet people? I’d love to have some friends I can hang out with alone, as well as some couples my hubby and I could hang out with together.
