Yesterday it hit me how bad things had become, when my daughter was going to be bringing a friend home after they had met in town for a few hours, so I had a mad vacuum session. It has made things look quite nice so I want to get back to grips with the rest of things.

Today I filed a huge pile of papers that had accumulated, but the file box is bursting at the seams so I need to go through it and chuck stuff out again. Also I have bought a new file box just for frequently used items such as household finances, credit card, utility statements and such. Anyone have any other ideas what could go in this new file I would appreciate the input! This is just a tall narrow box with concertina sections, so I can’t have it too messy as the things inside will not be in folders. It’s meant for things like payslips and statements that I might need to check regularly. I really need to declutter that other box, I have over a year worth of each of our mobile phone statements in it!
