actually get through 'The Waves' by Virginia Woolf (read all 3 entries…)
The Waves 3 years ago

I must admit; I have tried to read this book about 10 times. I do think myself a great reader and I comprehend most everything.(I am willing to boast that.)
But this book…. this book leaves me feeling as if I cannot manage to spell my own name.

I will not accept defeat.
Must read this book.

Comments:

oh my god thank you so much. i started this book last week and have had to reread every page while im rereading the page. about about 3 pages in. again.
i want to just readitreadit without having to find some kind of rosetta stone, but im scared. i have never had a book that baffled me as consistently as this one seems to be doing.

Ohhh I feel you there. I must have tried first reading it about 6 years ago.
I think I may even have thrown out my copy of ‘Waves’ because of my utter frustration with it. I did end up getting pretty far into it… but then I stopped and thought back to what I’d read and I was still thoroughly lost about everything.

good luck on getting through it! we can do it! haha

BigDlittled is awake

it may go on and on

but it is really
sort of beautiful

being not in a hurry with getting somewhere with it helps, it’s one of those books that, for me, was best appreciated by the enjoyment of the pieces, the parts as they were presented, the words on individual pages, more than the whole… although the whole aint bad, following those personalities throughout their lives. she’s such an observant person

infiltrated has gotten 4 cheers on this entry.
