2 weeks ago I bought a kids knitting starter kit. It has two quite small needles and some of the most horribly garish wool I’ve seen in my life with a particularly violent pink. I spent a while getting to grips with just doing garter stitch and stocking stitch which I’m now happy with. Ribbing gave me trouble at first but yesterday I figured out what was going wrong there.
Also yesterday I found a big book of crafts, knitting included and have spent this morning just mucking around with a thin strip of material trying patterns and stitches and have made a stupid little bag with a strap which I’ll probably photograph sometime.
There’s nowhere to get wool here except apparently one guy who has a market stall on wednesdays but it’s back to uni in a few days and I’m sure there’ll be some around there! So yeah, it’s all going well for the moment – I think I’m going to try to make a scarf and gloves just on principle..
