i’m lucky enough to have access and to have been encouraged in all outlets for music. Having played 3 instruments for about 12 years i kind of reached a plateau. Don’t get me wrong i enjoy playing music immensly but i just don’t think anything compares to composing a good piece of music which is rhapsodic and original in its deployment and development of themes. I always get butterflys when anyone plays my compositions, its like reading out my diary or something. For me a great theme shows all the vulnerability and immense strength of humanity embodied in sound, a theme must fight against the odds and overcome the grief and uncertainty of the harmonies that plague it in its development stage.
