stop beginning sentences with co-ordinate conjunctions.
Overrated.

I can now avoid doing this when writing a professional letter, or when doing something un-creative in school.
But personally, in my own writing, it makes me who I am.
Everyone avoids those little tiny words; I glorify them!
And my English teacher in college supported my decision to begin sentences with CCs when appropriate.
So you see, they’re not all bad.

“There is a persistent belief that it is improper to begin a sentence with And, but this prohibition has been cheerfully ignored by standard authors from Anglo-Saxon times onwards. An initial And is a useful aid to writers as the narrative continues.” from The New Fowler’s Modern English Usage

I think I'm going to have to give it up.

I tried this, today. It wasn’t in formal writing, so really there was no need to be grammatically anal-retentive. I finished one sentence, reached for a “but” with which to start the next sentence, paused, contemplated (for ages), and went with it: “But… whatever.” Oh, well. I guess it’s not a total loss to consider change, then reject it. Perhaps I won’t feel so guilty about doing this now that I’ve tried quitting and realized that I’d really rather not!

i lived by this rule for ages

and then stopped, and have never looked back. i’ve even begun to find it eloquent.

As an editor,

I agree—not worth it!
