Struggling to maintain again

I have been eating cooked food again lately, fallen down again. I have purchased Shazzie’s book from Amazon, her book is supposed to help with the transition a lot.
I have also been looking at recipes on www.fromsadtoraw.com this has helped.

Yesterday I was 100% Raw again. I hope to continue from here and try again.

One of the things that I have discovered is not only is cooked food carcinogenic and devoid of enzymes and a lot of nutrients (which most of us know) it is also highly addictive.

It makes perfect sense; I never crave Raw food, I often think hmmm a pear would be nice or something like that but I don’t tend to crave it like cooked food, plus I never over eat raw food, not because it’s not as tasty as cooked, it’s always delicious when I create an elegant dish of raw food.

My body recognises that it has what it needs faster with raw I suppose.

Cravings for cooked food when detoxing are crazy, you crave the absolute worst foods just like a junkie in detox. We need a cooked food anonymous or something.

So eating a diet of some cooked and some raw isn’t going to work for me at all, the cooked food cravings will make me want to eat it every meal, I just need to get to the point that I no longer desire cooked food.

Breakfast this morning was blended almonds with a little olive oil, sea salt and seasonings, with some chunks of apple and banana thrown in and mixed up. A very tasty raw breakfast cereal indeed.

My only other problem is that it is so expensive to just eat raw, go figure huh? Eating mostly fresh produce (organic of course which doesn’t help the cost) is more expensive than eating a cooked, processed and manufactured diet.

I am still here though and still working on it.

thought i'd check in

you’re a success, because you know what you want to do, and even if you falter, you get back up again! let me know how you like shazzie’s book. yay you!

Shazzie

Shazzie’s book is more reinforcing for me, it confirms a lot of what I already know but that is a good thing.

It contains a lot of useful advice in addition though, which includes a great number of her own personal experiences.

The recipes look good too, and there is a comprehensive list of resources within the pages, for other books, raw food suppliers. It gives a good overview and I think it will be an excellent tool for me, supplementing my other books and knowledge of the subject.
