Work vs Reading 2 years ago

I have so much work to do today. I have 4 jobs I am supposed to be recruiting for plus laundry and housework. I was up until 11pm last night recruiting and am just not in the mood today.

I also have 4 books in my library pile that need read before I have to take them back. I think I’m going to be decadent today and go downstairs, start the fireplace, have a cup of tea and read. The kids are all napping at the same time (that never happens!) and I have a window of opportunity.

As Hot as it Was You Ought To Thank Me. I just started it and so far, it’s really good!

Well?

Did you? What book did you pick?

Ah – a fire. It’s not quite cold enough for that here yet.

I did...

and it was so lovely! Jacob ended up not taking a nap, but a friend of his called and wanted to come play, so he went and the girls slept. I felt very naughty doing this during the day… like it was against the rules or something! I have decided that it’s time I buy myself a pretty tea cup. I love drinking hot tea and I think I need a new teacup :)

Anyway, I am reading “As Hot as it Was You Ought to Thank Me”. I was going to start it this past weekend and didn’t get around to it. Started it today and so far, so good.

I have a long list of books checked out right now. They all seem to come available at the same time. I have some serious reading I need to do !

Sounds great

and I agree you need a pretty tea cup. And the endorphins that will come along with shopping for it. :-)

Teacups

Swapbot has a teacup swap up right now… I’m thinking about signing up for it. Is a teacup something that should be personal and picked out by yourself, or is it something that is even more special because it is given to you by someone else. Hmmmmm…..

I don't quite get it

How can you stay up until 11 pm recruiting? I guess I just have a picture in my mind of you calling people in the middle of the night and them waking up grumpily to answer the phone.

Is it a time zone thing?

Sourcing

I source candidates online and get the phone numbers and everything at night. I also send e-mails to contacts I already have in the cities I’m recruiting at. Then, the next day I make the phone calls during business hours.

No calling and waking people up involved! I’d probably get a lot of grumps, you are right :) lol!

That would be funny

and a good explanation for why that woman was repeatedly late to interviews. “My recruiter kept me up too late . . . .”

;-)

LOL

That would explain it… all those late night phone calls from the damn recruiter! ;)

Ok, makes sense

I’m surprised I didn’t think of the ‘internet and email’ thing, since the internet/email is my standard source of information & communication.
