Yesterday I decided to downgrade my Comcast cable from a digital package that included a DVR, HBO, HBO on Demand and Movies on Demand, all costing, get this, $105 dollars a month. Therefore, I downgraded to very basic cable which is $13.45 dollars a month. For that cost you get all the networks with clear reception, plus they throw in some extras like CSPAN 1 and 2. I will be saving $88 bucks per month. Sure, I’ll miss premium cable for obvious reasons, but for some time now, I realized that there is more that I could be doing with my time and money. Plus, the best shows come on the major networks anyway so I won’t be missing much. So, they will be coming to my house next Tuesday for the downgrade. I won’t even need a cable box. It’s all very liberating.
