learn how to do a flip turn (read all 2 entries…)
Okaaay 2 years ago

So I’m not sure I want to do this anymore. I practiced in the pool a coupla weeks ago, and I got so much water in my ears, I felt nauseous. It’s enough to swim 30 minutes without all the somersaulting stuff.

Flip turns ...

First off … you can swim seriously without decent earplugs.

Or at least I can’t.

The water in your ears causes pain and ear infections.

Go get some earplugs.

Flip turns are generaly for freestyle.

Are you doing freestyle laps?

I’m kinda indifferent to flip turns. They are mainly for races. Or to REALLY streamline your swimming.

Thanks for the comment

I haven’t been swiming much for the past two months. The chlorine was turning my hair a weird bronze/orange color. Vanity! But yeah, I could use a swimming cap, but rubber, particularly tight rubber, should not be worn on the head if one can at all help it. I can swim without earplugs though, just apparently not when I’m doing flip turns. I am doing freestyle laps, and I did want to, as you say, streamlime my swimming. The pool where I swim is half Olympic and requires a lot of turns. But now, I’m thinking, nah. I love to swim though, and I miss it, so I think I’m just gonna apply black hair dye every month and hope I don’t have a reaction. BTW, we like the same books (Mockingbird, Of Human Bondage, and I just borrowed Fountainhead from a neighbor). Cheers!

Just curious...

Where did you see my book preferences? Did you scope out my booklist?

;)

How else?

It’s fun to read random blogs, sometimes. Hmm, maybe earplugs would keep me from getting nauseous…
