okay… so I bought one. And Now I can play several chords. However, I’d really like to learn a song on this instrument.
Guess I’ll have to look for a uke song book.

Forget about the uke song book. If you want to learn songs, try this. First learn the basic chords or invest in a decent chord book. Then look for guitar chords for sings online, not tabs, but chords. I have learned literally hundreds of songs this way. Chords are chords, whether played on guitar, piano or ukulele. You name it, its out there. A great motivator for picking up dat uke and strumming away!

I bought a chord book, and that’s how I learned my chords. But when trying to learn the songs that I found online I noticed that they’re pretty much one chord a measure. I dunno if that’s real uke music or not because I’ve seen people play full length songs. lol.. do you have any references to good places to get music online?

if you are looking for hawaiian songs on line, i would suggest googling “tropical storm ukulele” they do a top 100 songs. lots of them are chords and lyrics. some have a tab version of chords used for refrence. search ukulele tabs and lots of sites come up, from hawaiian to punk.
i just downloaded “sweet emotion” off a rock uke tab site. crazy stuff!
