Yesterday was gorgeous – sunshiny but definitely looking and smelling like Fall.
After we visited with Norm, Isak and I went for a long walk at Trout Lake. The trees were on fire with bright colors, the sky was a drinkable blue and we walked around for a couple of hours. So many things to look and point at: leaves, trees, ducks, people, dogs, mountains, moss, crows, reflections…
I took a lot of pictures while talking about the things we saw, so we could look at them again later (something Isak is really enjoying lately, recognizing the different things from earlier). I’d like to print & scrapbook some of these “dayshots” for him.
The sun (and the son) finally got tired, so we headed home to share sweet squash soup and buttered toast before cuddling up for his nap. He kept holding his hand up for me to kiss, raising it slower and slower as he drifted off… moments like this I love him so much it hurts gloriously, like a velvet boot to the heart.
