After 5 years of German in college, 1.5 years of living abroad in Braunschweig, Liechtenstein, and Berlin, and close to 2 years working with German companies, I am fluent. The icing on the cake for me is when people ask what part of Germany I come from. Sure, half of them are probably just being polite. But I know I’ve fooled a couple.

If anyone would like help reaching this goal, feel free to send me a message. I will say up front that I am not perfect at grammar, but mumbling through der/den/dem when you don’t really know has worked for me. Heck, most Germans do it anyway. Which brings me to another point. I am great at colloquial German (including curse words and body parts). :>)
