My wife and I bought our first house back in May. We had our choice between a nice “smaller” home in a “less desirable” neighborhood or a good size home in rough shape in a beautiful neighborhood. Well we bit the bullet and went with the fixer-upper. To give you a little history on the home it was an investment opportunity for the seller. He thought he could fix it up and flip it. He ended up taking a loss on it. He basicly replaced the carpet and that was about it. Sad. Since we bought the house we have gutted and remodeled the master bathroom, painted the master bedroom. We have Gutted and remodeled the kitchen. We have ripped out all of the landscaping and started fresh. We have ripped out a brick patio in the back yard that was about 10’ by 35’ and had 8” of cement under it. We have patched the garage door and painted it as well as the french doors on the front of the house. At this point we still need to completely gut and remodel the main bathroom. remove tile from foyer and install hardwood flooring. Install hardwood flooring in kitchen and dining room. Install drainage system in front yard. Build deck off of the back of the house, and some other things that we haven’t thought of. Pictures to come soon!!
