I’m considering this goal completed.

Some of the time, I was drinking coffee when I was bored or just needed a break. To fill those times, I now take a walk to the water cooler or drinking fountain.

I still enjoy the smell of fresh coffee but the flavor isn’t that compelling to me any more. (I should confess I had a cup on Friday with milk and sugar and it was rather yummy but not something I’ll look for frequently, let alone everyday. It was a nice pick-me-up, made nicer by the fact it’d been weeks since I’d had a cup.) I still like a nice warm drink in the morning but a single cup of decaf tea (green or black or even herbal) seems to do it for me.

I was motivated to kick coffee partially because of the overwhelming “Cult of the Bean” that has grown up in the US in recent years. I also don’t miss spending so much money on it either. Soda has never had much appeal for me, so cutting out the sugared-fizzy-buzzwater wasn’t even an issue.
