Rachael is wanting to get on with things
It’d be a big project, I’d want to do it up professionally. I could do the seat/curtains etc. and let someone else do a lovely paint job on it :) And I have to learn to drive and buy one as well. Hehe.

They have an ‘84 I think?? Here’s the good, bad and the ugly. Ugly first: The engine in it sucks! If you do any traveling in the mts. (not UK-type mountains, but ROCKY mtns.), the engine is not sufficient. There were times you could only go 20mph. The Bad: not-great gas mileage, of course, and kind of a rough ride.
And the GOOD: they are SO COOL. You have everything you need – fridge, running water, stove top! You can buy a little ceramic cube heater – works like a charm! They design every little thing – like a curtain system so you can have total privacy, several built-in tables so you can seat four for dinner, two double beds… You pull up somewhere and you’re home! Virtually no set-up… Plus, nice little bonus is, at least in the states… when you see someone else driving one, you honk at each other or wave! Kind of cool little secret society.
So; while I don’t recommend a mid-80s model, I do recommend getting a VW camper. Great livin!
