Originally I didn’t want to go there because I thought it was going to be too big for me. I was going to become an optometrist, so that meant I could go virtually anywhere to get my bachelor’s degree. After a while I decided that maybe I would like to become an engineer. I don’t really know why, but it seemed like a good choice. The only problem was that I had to look at different colleges that had an engineering department. I didn’t want to have to pay for out-of-state tuition either. With those conditions, I only had about five schools to choose from. Among those was Madison. I went to a visit and knew that it was the school for me. I loved everything about it and it was an epiphany. I loved the atmosphere, the people, the opportunities, everything. It was one of those “ah-ha” moments. I did visit other schools, including the University of Minnesota, but nothing else compared. There was nothing more to it. That’s how I chose to go there. But I changed my mind again and now I want to major in english and become a librarian.
