live in the UK
So I am registered on a forum for 3 years ago

Americans looking to move to the UK, and for those who already have. I’ve also done some preliminary research, and it looks as though I could work, legally and in terms of actually finding work, in my field. So…

Comments:

That's awesome for you!

uhh.. how?

Lol, sorry, but i would love to move there… any info would be great.. thanks so much! what was the forum by the way?

Here is the link for the forum:

http://www.americanexpats.co.uk/

You should also go to the Home Office’s immigration section at http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/
Follow the links to get immigration information for entering as, for example, a student, an au pair, an artist, a “Highly Skilled” Migrant Worker (many health and mental health-related jobs), etc. (Workers in some fields are welcome, but not others).

There are also businesses that handle/process/advise on these matters. They of course charge a fee, but some of them offer some helpful info on their websites. Just do a good old google search.

Good luck, and you’re welcome to keep me posted!

Oops, wrong link:

The forum I’ve found most friendly and helpful is actually
http://www.uk-yankee.com/

Happy New Year!
