get dreadlocks
JUST DO IT!

I wanted to have dreads for like 10 years before I did it. it’s been 5+ years since I let ‘em go and I tell ya, there’s no reason not to do it. I work with all kinds of corporate folks all the time and the dreads have never hurt my career. Plus, you never ever get bad hair days. So, yah, DO IT already. You’ll be cuter, really. Drop me a line and I’ll give you all the encouragement you’ll need.

A few things, tho: Don’t get a dread perm, that’ll look bad later. Real dreads take a year to set. And for the love of god people don’t let them get all nasty and Rainbow-hippie skanky. That’s the suck. Go you gotta work at ‘em. This is a long term proposition, stick with ‘em and they’ll stick with you.

Comments:

That was bmy biggest fear--that dreads would make a bad impression professionally

But actually the reverse has turned out to be true. The people who interviewed me for this cool ad agency job keep talking about how much they loved my hair, that day I came in to interview.

Didn’t get a perm, and I’m about 6-7 months in. And you’re right, they’re definitely not mature yet.

Im am really wanting to get dreadlocks very badly, but im not really sure how to do it and i dont really want to go by the dreadperm or backcombing or any chemical ways. Can you help me out??? Thanks!!

Darkened_Destiny You can't wring your hands and roll up your sleeves at the same time.

How old were you when you put them in? What method did you use? Looking good by the way.
