If you are cruising, in the Cayman Islands there is a place about a half mile from where the boats bring you. We brought our own gear and snorkled for like $3 US, all we had to do was rent a locker. On Grand Bahama island you can get a taxi from Freeport to Paradise Cove, and the snorkling was good there too, lots of colorful fish. We had a lot of fun there, too. You can purchase some good island food both places. We took breaks and ate fried plantains and conch fritters.
