God's silence has silenced me

So much for prayer … if God moves and speaks through people … if God has no hands, no feet but those of his followers … then God has succeeded in pushing me away.

i posted my concerns on http://forums.catholic.com and was basically attacked, my sanity and my morality questioned and basically picked apart. What an experience. My posts were deleted … i’m certainly through with Catholicism … and perhaps Christianity altogether.

I know what you mean
I prayed everyday for 3 years before I finally heard God. It was well worth the wait. I highly recommend it! What I found, after I heard Him, was that He was talking to me all along. I can still remember on day 1 what His response was, but I didn’t listen. I thought it was my own thoughts or influence from the constant bombardment of broadcast TV and other mass media. God was very patient with me and continued to talk to me even when I couldn’t hear Him. I grew up Catholic, so I also can relate to your experience with them. I have not practiced that religion for about 25 years though.
This is my first post, so I’m not sure if I will find out whether or not you respond to this email. I found you because we share the same interest in wanting to learn how to oil paint.
