I think the outlook that needs to be taken on this for a person to stick to it is that it’s not generous giving. It’s a duty. I see it as something I must do.
I’m by no means wealthy but I’ve been blessed with a good job for the past four years that I believe is a result of my tithing since I started working at the age of 16 (I’m 24 now).
Tithing is a difficult subject since it deals greatly in the area of faith and trust in God as our provider. However, one thing that can make it easier is to create a budget and stick to it. My biggest money waster was eating out. I used to spend about $60/week on eating out but now that I have my own refrigerator I only spend about $20/week at the grocery store.
