I’ve been trying to write since I was 17 (29 years ago). I wrote poetry, prolifically, perhaps well but published a grand total of 3 poems that I know of (and possibly more because I gave away my book of poetry).
Then I tried short stories but found out that in 1980’s Britain the market was limited (for SF, it was limited to Interzone)
In the past 20 years I’ve made numerous attempts but only finished one novel. After two agents turned me down, I ended up leaving the manuscript behind in Rotterdam.
Now I’m trying to write a novel (90,000 words) by 25 January 2007 to enter the Undiscovered Writers Competition www.undiscoveredauthors.co.uk
