Learn to read and write music
So Far I've...

Taught myself how to use several music programs, currently using Sony’s Music Studio. I’m now reading two books on how to read music, and I’ve got the basics down. My favorite instrument is the guitar so I’m learning to read tab, and practicing writing it on a free program called PowerTab. It takes a lot of patience and self discipline, but the rewards are great.

Me too

I am on the brink of starting my journey on learning how to read and write music, and saw this post.

I’m just beginning, so I’m not sure what works, or what the recommended books/software are, so I am up for any recommendations.

I’m thinking of using “Music for Dummies”, or something like that.

I bought a guitar some time ago, and I’m ready to start with the absolute basics, and hope to learn how to compose my music via software, like Cakewalk Sonar and Sony Sound Forge, two that I have heard are great programs for such an endeavor.
