If you want to learn the actual code, not just use a page editor, then the best place that I’ve found is w3schools.com It’ll take you right from the basics in a clear and helpful way. It’s up to date and is interesting.
I wish it was around when I stumbled my way through learning HTML (hyper text markup language). I basically learned from looking at source code, then experimenting. Later I learned CSS (cascading style sheets) from the w3schools website, and that speeds things up a lot.
I still know very little, but I know enough to have fun. It sounds like that’s what you’re after – FUN – so maybe w3schools will help you with this goal.
