My absolute favorite for interval running
My friend had a blast with Bono’s Vertigo.
Elderbear is hibernating ... kickn' back ...
has highly recommended iTrain as a source of workout music and coaching.
1. The remixes on Shakira’s Hips Dont Lie album
2. Voodoo Child from the Rogue Traders. This song is good for energy when you want to sprint.
3. Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas – her new album has some nice upbeat numbers
4. I don’t feel like dancing from the Scissor Sisters
5. Do Me Right from Jamelia’s latest album
I like to run to Crystal Method or Chemical Bros. PUMPS YOU UP! Prodigy works SUPER well, for me, especially the song “Breathe”. In fact, put it on your Nano, right now! The minute I hear it I get really motivated to work out. “Dum Diddly” by Black Eyed Peas does that for me, too. Fatboy Slim has some tracks that are good for running, I like “Weapon of Choice” for my cool down.
My “WO” (workout) mix on iTunes:
Around the World by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Body Movin’ by Beastie Boys
Breathe by Prodigy
Brimful of Asha by Fatboy Slim (remix)of Cornershop original
Bump by Kottonmouth Kings
Bump by Rehab
Cyclone by Dub Pistols
Dum Diddly by Black Eyed Peas
Get By by Talib Kweli
Girl by Beck
Hump de Bump by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Intergalactic by Beastie Boys
Sabotage by Beastie Boys
The Wizards Palace by ICP
Triple Threat by Twiztid
Weapon of Choice by Fatboy Slim
I personally run to Red Hot Chili Peppers, but thats just me. They’re my favorite band tho, and I know all the good songs that work well to run to, whereas it might be harder for other people, not all their songs have a good running beat…Come to think of it theres a lot of techno in there, Beastie Boys n Fatboy Slim…
iTunes will let you preview all of these if you’re interested!!
Peggy Hill is livin' la vida loca
Earth, Wind and Fire makes great running music…except for the ballads.
The first thing that comes to mind is The Chemical Brothers. Exit Planet Dust especially. Another suggestion with a much different feel (Irish roots-rock, I guess I’d call it) would be The Waterboys’ album Fisherman’s Blues. For a bit of straightforward American rock, I have to suggest one of my all-time favorite bands, Kings of Leon. Specifically Aha Shake Heartbreak.

The loveninjas. Two of their songs can be obtained for free by downloading the Labrador Summer Sampler (which has 66 other really awesome songs). I listen to I wanna be like Johnny C. in gym class. At least in my head. Keeps me going.
