because hating france is out, and champagne originated in france, so it stands to reason that they’d have some of the best (neat fact: champagne was accidentally created by a french monk by the name of dom perignon).

sorry to have to correct you but I think you’ll find that it was a British guy called Christopher Merret who first documented how to make champagne 30 years before dom perignon!!
