I have three types of literature:

  • ACTION ENQUIRY theory – types of AE – I’m using 1st person and collaborative action research.
  • COPs Theory – blog entry pending
  • Wiki theory – from Ward Cunningham to Wikipedia and onwards

try to find more linking 2 and 3.

using Furl to catalogue references

Specific:
write 300 words on each subtype, 1000 total.
Timed:
must be done by half way through half term.
Relevant
see discussion on Gina’s blogachievable

Realistic
Depends if other things take priority. It may be more important to push on with writing encouragment and explanations for the wiki community at that time.
Measurable
Yes, when it’s done there’ll be a link to the lit review from my coursework site.

Lit review

Looks good to me. You mention links between COPs theory and wiki theory. Is that in response to my feedback from the last assignment or are you thinking something else? It would certainly be good, for what you are doing here-are you going to look at Wenger? Maybe you could apply some of his ideas to wikis-would be interesting….

I used Wenger’s criteria to identify a COP, but it’ still in an unpublished blog entry. The links are necessary anyway because I’m looking at apply a Wiki to a COP, and my ideas about that are developing as I learn. At first I though of the wiki as being merely a tool which the cop can use to accumulate information but I’m learning that Wiki can faciliatate community by itself, so the implications for the longer term development of the email list and its relationship to the wiki will be well worth keeping an eye on .
