I found when I stopped adding extra salt to my food that it tasted a little bland. But now I’ve been doing it for about a year, if I have food with extra salt it too salty. I’ve cut out processed ready meals and only salt a little whilst cooking, so I’m way under the 6gram limit per day, yay!

another way to cut down your salt without losing the flavor you like is to use a good salt substitute. don’t use the nasty postassium chloride only substitutes – they taste metallic.

i’ve been using a new product that a friend of mine created called lessalt. it’s available from www.lessalt.com

I think they only accept USA orders online, but you can send them an e-mail if you’re not from the states and maybe they’ll be able to accommodate you.
