... Babiak, Todd. The Garneau Block.
I’m reading this book because it’s by an Edmontonian and is set in Edmonton (actually, in a neighbourhood very close to where I live and work). I have to say I didn’t start this novel with the highest expectations.
ETA: I give this book a resounding MEH! I guess it was a relatively accurate portrayal of how crappy yet somewhat charming this city is. But it seemed like the whole focus was the fact that it was set in Edmonton (endless name / place dropping) rather than, I don’t know, a decent plotline or something. I found the story lame. And the characters too caricature-y.
Bring on the next victim! Hey, I should make all the books Canadian… maybe I’ll give it a try.
