be a good step-mom
A few definitions 3 years ago

First, I guess I ought to have defined for myself what a “good step-mom” is. In the sense that I promote the growth and development of my step-children, I’m an excellent step-mom. But I find it very difficult not to get involved in discipline issues with my kids (which is discouraged by all the leading experts in step-parenting). So I’m certainly a wicked stepmother in their eyes. But…I continue to work on my parenting skills, step-parent or not. :)

I’m just curious as to who the “leading experts” are. I’m new to this position… (pseudo step parent), and I’m looking for information on how to be doing this on the right foot.
I also wonder how you would go about living with a child & not come up against discipline issues from time to time? Having been a teacher, kids need discipline in a class room… and they need to treat you with respect too. And considering the nature of children :-), at some point they will try & push you too, so they need to know your limits as well.
Not to say that discipline can’t be creative, and maybe you should not be the one doing most of it… but i wouldn’t think some would hurt…

But again I don’t know for sure… got any resources for me?

HEY I KNOW WAT ITS LIKE TO HAVE A STEP MOM
