I’ve always wanted to write a really good horror story, because other authors are scaring me with theirs, and I want to get my own back, cause I scare really easily. But I dont know how to get started or how to really scare people with my writing. Please comment if you have any advice for me.
There are some pretty good writing books out there. If you don’t have any writing experience, I’d suggest buying a few. Even if you do, it’d still be a good idea. There’re also a lot of good sites with helpful tips from professional writers such as: WritersWrite.com, and the Horror Writers Association. You should also be well versed in the classics of the genre. Many writers would also tell you to start of with short stories. In addition to allowing you to develop and hone your own unique voice, a wealth of short stories will give you plenty of material when writing that first novel.
