Be more like my dog (read all 4 entries…)
And sometimes be like my cat, too 3 years ago

It’s been an odd 10 days or so with dental surgery, traffic court, and other interesting experiences. The one that warmed my heart had to do with my cat. In my attempt to avoid last year’s problem of strange animals hanging out in my garage and eating my cat’s food, I decided that I would lock her in (with food and water) at night. Well, last week I hadn’t seen poor kitty for several days and I was really getting worried. I feared that she’d found a new home. I decided that feeding her in the garage was not working and that I’d have to just put the food outside and hope she got at least some of it before it was consumed by squirrels, visiting cats, raccoons, or whatever. I went to get the food bowls out of the garage and when I opened the door, there was my poor kitty. She had been locked inside for days without food! Thankfully, she did have a litter box and water. I picked up kitty and held her close to my heart. What did she do? What cats do – she sweetly purred. What a role model for not holding a grudge. BTW, she was hungry, but her health does not appear to have been harmed.
