stop taking anti-depressants

Three years of Effexor. I’d like not to rely on them. Or at least reduce the dose.

Comments:

My goal too, I think

I’ve been on Effexor for at least a couple or three years. I take 75mg daily.

I wonder whether my poor sleep and fatigue are related to the Effexor. It could be something else. Friends tell me I’ve ALWAYS complained of fatigue.

My GP is fairly vague about cutting back. Because the drug is in a capsule, it can’t be split, and his suggestion is that I should try taking one every other day. I didn’t take mine this morning.

Get a better md or np...

The best thing for you might be another medicine, but never go off any psychotrophic medication without a dr’s or nurse practitioner’s supervision! There’s a lot of information out there that indicates that when people suddenly go off meds, that the risk of suicidal thoughts/attempts increase. I’m not saying you would necessarily do this, but when your brain’s been accustomed to a certain level of chemicals on a daily basis and suddenly it doesn’t have any coming to it dangerous things can very easily start to happen. Good luck…and be smart!

I second that!
Effexor is sucky :)
I’m wholly dependent on Sertraline at the moment.
Great fun.

Good luck!
