I have been in the acting industry for over 12 years now, and I have been doing voice over pretty much throughout my whole career. It is great fun and the people you work with are some of the nicest people in the industry I’ve ever met. :) If you have any questions, just ask me! I’ll be happy to answer as best as I can!

My sister
has a fantastic speaking voice…with quite a range. She used to work for a radio station in a clerical role and they would pull her to do commercials because she had the voice.
She quit after a buy-out and after she got married. I was a theater major in college and have always been fascinated with the idea of voice over work…I tried to convince my sister that she should go into this on a larger scale but she currently has no interest.
Good for you for making it work! Is there a difference in markets across the country? I’m in the Kansas City area and my sister is in Detroit…any ideas?
voiceover
Hey!
Thanks for replying. That’s really cool about your sister. Unfortunately, I don’t really know anything about other markets across the country. I’ve lived near LA all my life. I do know that New York has a big voiceover market. I if you are in a smaller city or out of the mainstream of V.O. jobs, there may be regional commercials, books on tape and other things that need narrators, announcers etc. As far as the animation and national commercial things though, I’m pretty sure those all go through LA or NY. Unless you already have an agent and happen to have moved to another state, and also have a decent recording set up, then you could simply email your audition to the agent and fly in if you booked something. Is that kind of what you mean? I’m actually not exactly sure what you mean by “markets”.
talk to you soon!
