expand my samba & bossa nova collection.

I love Samba & Bossa Nova, but my collection is still really small in size and depth. I’ve got all the greats like Charlie Byrd, Stan Getz, and Sergio Mendes. But I’d like to expand to more artists, and maybe even be capable of having a somewhat intelligent conversation on Samba & Bossa Nova music.

How do you feel about the Giberto family?

I love Astrud—the dayghter Bebel is nice too.

I just got a new compilation CD. Its called “Samba Bossa Nova” (various artists) and it is fnatastic. It has newer music but the old sound—if that makes sense. Some of the artists are the kids of the famous ones from the 60’s.

My favorite cuts are: “Quarteto Jobim-Morelenbaum” (track #1), Caetano Veloso’s son “Moreno Veloso +2” (track #5) and Rosa Passos (track #9)
